Quote from CheckEngineChamp on June 11, 2025, 8:05 amHey everyone,
Sharing my recent repair story to help anyone facing similar issues.๐ฉ Symptoms I Noticed:
My car (2013 Honda Accord) vibrated heavily during acceleration, especially between 30-50 mph.
No vibration when idling or at constant highway speed.
No check engine light or error codes via OBD2 scanner.
The problem was getting worse day by day.
๐ What I Tried (Step-by-Step Troubleshooting):
1๏ธโฃ Wheel Balancing & Alignment Check
โ No issues found โ wheels balanced and alignment perfect.2๏ธโฃ Tire Inspection
โ No bulges or uneven wear detected.3๏ธโฃ Motor Mounts Check
โ Slight wear but not enough to explain the severe vibration.4๏ธโฃ Axle Shafts & CV Joints Inspection
๐ Found that the passenger side CV axle inner joint had excessive play.5๏ธโฃ OBD2 Scan (Autel AL519)
โ No stored codes or pending misfires.๐ง The Actual Fix:
โ Ordered a brand new passenger side CV axle (OEM replacement).
โ Installed it myself in the garage (about 2 hours work).
โ Test drive: vibration completely gone! Smooth acceleration at all speeds.๐ฌ What Caused It:
๐ The inner CV joint was slightly binding under load causing vibration during acceleration but not at constant speed.
๐ Lesson Learned:
Even without codes, mechanical parts can fail silently.
Always check axles if you have acceleration vibrations.
OBD2 scanner can help rule out engine misfire or transmission issues early.
๐ง Problem Status: Fully Solved โ
๐จ๏ธ Feel free to add if anyone has more tips or long-term feedback.
